For the love of all things holy, how much longer is Hillary going to stomp her foot, Veruka Salt style, and declare, "I want a nomination, daddy, and I want it NOW!"At this point, it's just embarassing.Well, not "just."Because it's also divisive, destructive and downright devious.Frankly, I'm not sure what she gets out of prolonging this agony. She can not win.Everybody knows it, including her.And really, how much fun can it be to wake up each and every morning to your picutre in yet another newspaper with a headline screaming things like "Toast!" or "Stick A Fork In Her, She's Done"?Given the latest news about her financial standing - she just loaned her campaign over six million bucks - it's beginning to seem that if we call her at 3 a.m., we'll get a message saying the number has been disconnected due to non-payment.(Not for nothing, but should a woman who is attempting to buy the White House call others elitist?)Perhaps the only correct move Hil has made of late was -- and this is going to sound strange, especially coming from me -- going on The O'Reilly Factor for what was the best, most honest, most interesting interview she's given in months. |
Perhaps the only correct move Hil has made of late was -- and this is going to sound strange, especially coming from me -- going on The O'Reilly Factor for what was the best, most honest, most interesting interview she's given in months.Bill was a blowhard, but the great thing was, she blew back. The interview showed that this woman can stand up and push back when pushed. And it's hard to explain to anyone who didn't see the two-night interview, but she came off as almost likeable.(The key word here is "almost.")
It didn't make me want to vote for her, but it did offer a glimpse into what seemed like a more real and unscripted Hillary than we've seen in a long, long time.Bill got up in her grill and she liked it.She was what my grandma would have called fiesty. But fiesty ain't enough to win the nomination. At this point, where Hillary is concerned, nothing is.
But hey, she's young(ish).There's always 2012. |
